This site is still very much under construction. For now, it consists of some pictures of South African flowers. Click on the Plant Pictures link in the menu to see what is here so far.

Most of the images have been captured by scaning the flowers on a flat-bed scanner. They are about 400 pixels high, so the site is best viewed in 800x600 or 1024x768 mode.

Anthony Hitchcock has provided many of the more unusual specimens and has assisted greatly with identification of the plants.

26 November 2002: Thanks to a mammoth typing effort by Åke Törngren, flowering dates have been added to the searchable database.
